In less than eighty years, between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, European painting shifted from the direct observation of nature to the dissolution of reality. The exhibition at Palazzo dei Diamanti reconstructs these transformations.

This new exhibition stems from a desire to explore the affinities between the paintings of the great Ferrara-born filmmaker and the work of the celebrated photographer from Reggio Emilia.

From Friday 30th October to Sunday 1st November 2026, Ferrara's historic centre will transform into a large open-air stage, brought to life by a rich calendar of free food-themed events.
